Despite the fact that he has yet to set foot in the ring this year, 2019 has already been an eventful one for Gennady GGG Golovkin. The year opened with rumors abounding that the former unified middleweight champion parted with longtime promoter Tom Loeffler. Instead, the relationship remained intact and with Golovkin working in the background as he prepares to come into his own as the head of GGG Promotions. Then there was the matter of his fighting home base. With HBO removing boxing from it’s regularly scheduled programming, Golovkin fielded offers from ESPN, DAZN and PBC before ultimately settling on a lucrative, $100 million dollar deal to fight three times on the streaming platform....
